Joel-Peter Witkin

The last exhibition (top floor) of the gallery (Fotografiska) was Bodies by Joel-Peter Witkin. I hadn't heard of him before and I know that I should have, I confess that I don't know of many widely known photographers and I don't really have good excuse for it. His photos are very intriguing, interesting and my mother thought that they were very provocative (not sexually) and controversial and I guess they were. The subjects in the photos were mainly of amputees and human heads, one of the photos were of a decapitated human body. Every one of the photos looked like they were from the 15th and 16th (1600-1700) century, and I would guess that some of the photos were taken with old cameras. It's incredible how he's succeeded to captivate so much life and emotion with dead bodies and body parts. Very fascinating exhibit and I'd encourage everyone to check him and it out, it's certainly not something for the squeamish but as I said, very fascinating.

Fatness

Hearing that you're fat from your parents doesn't help.

I know I'm not fat, but I feel so uncomfortable with my figure. I've put on a few pounds and it's all in the wrong places. I feel fat, bloated and I don't have any appetite whatsoever. Everything taste like vomit after two bites and I can't eat, even if I'm hungry. Going shopping with my parents didn't make anything easier, well dad isn't really a problem anymore it's mom. He told me a couple of year back that I needed to lose weight and I told him off and he hasn't said anything since then but mom have been repeating it for the last month or so since I told her that I'd gained wait from the anti depressants. I told her that I felt bad about it and she's been feeding me comments about it ever since. Gee thanks, mom. I would've thought she'd be a bit more smooth since she had an eating disorder when she was younger but it feels like she's trying to bring back mine, throwing fuel on the fire.

Stockholm: The Story Post

Besides the horror of shopping (Mother peeking over my shoulder, commenting on everything), the trip to Stockholm was great. It's such a beautiful city (especially Old Town and SoFo) and I got a few shots that I'm real pleased with and the gallery was amazing. Vee Speers is amazing (bought a print, see the first photo) but Annie Leibovitz blew me away. A lot of the prints had never before been published/shown because they were her private photos and they were incredible. One of them really got to me and made me tear up, a photo of a kid's bike lying in the middle of the street with blood stains around it, she had made notes to some of the photos and this was one of them. She first and foremost thinks of herself as a portrait photographer but she's so much more than that. So multifaceted. Unfortunately all of her prints were sold out in the gift shop, but they'll probably be with me forever with or without reminders.

I included this photo (below) as well because I wanted it, I thought the two would've made a very good pair but my mom thought it was unnecessary to buy two prints and I couldn't be bothered to argue with her because by then I was so tired and just wanted to get into the car and get home to rest my legs and feet.

One of the overall downsides to the trip was the aches I got from walking around for two days straight. My hips, knees and feet hurt like hell, a reminder that I need to call the doctor again. I'm gonna get them to take me serious because they can't blame this on growing-pains anymore. I've had problems with my knees for 10 years but I've never had problems with my hips before and I'm freaking (almost) 21 now and I doubt that you'd have growing-pains from the age of 11 to 21.

(I'll probably make a photo post sometime next week.)

Dirtyflaws.com

I've been reading this fine lady's blog for a few months now and she has the most incredible style. I love it! I don't read a lot of 'fashionblogs' because I'm so picky about fashion but also the 80lbs trend that's going around again. These dangerously skinny girls/women don't appeal to me and I don't support it, and very often they look very much the same. Nikki is the exact opposite in my opinion, she has great style and I certainly don't hate the tattoos and always post great editorials and collections.

Remember Me

Remember Me is by far the best role Robert "R.Patz" Pattinson has done. Saying that he's a bad actor based on the Twilight films is utter bullshit because he's a brilliant actor. I really had my doubts because actors with that kind of attention are often very overrated, but he is not. Saying that, Remember Me is probably one of my favourite films that I've seen this year. It's very well made with brilliant performances from the actors (Emilie De Ravin, Tate Ellington), gorgeous imagery and although it is a drama/romantic film, it's so different from any drama I've seen in years. Very unpredictable, honest and beautiful film. Everything I want from a good drama, because they tend to be the same.

Six Feet Under

I loved this show when I was younger, I used to sneak down and watch it after my parents had gone to bed. I've been looking for a site that has the entire series and I finally found it.

Vete/Värmekudden

Värmekudden är kvinnans bästa vän (i alla fall min) en vecka i månaden.
Just sayin'
