Some more Twilight spew coming your way, it's an interesting, disturbing phenomenon.
So the 3rd film is about a month away and it's starting to get crazy again. I watched the Oprah Eclipse thing on Youtube, from a couple of days ago, it's insane and slightly repulsive to me how these women especially the older women or the twimoms as they call themselves, obsess about fictional characters and about the real actors from the films. I get that teenagers have these tendencies anyway (every other teenager have at some point had a crush and gone a bit overboard with it) but grown women acting like 12-13 years old girls, it's beyond me. I know that the majority of them are stay at home moms with a bit too much free time on their hands but this behaviour is mental. They should know better.I could hardly get through the books because of the language, Stephanie Meyer is a horrible writer. She has her moments but tying them together to get a flow is not one of her best features and on top of that, on the back or inside the cover or wherever of the book it say that she has a degree in English Literature. I wonder how she got that because (at least the first book) is kind of rubbish. She gets better from one book to the next but it's still not very well written. It feels like you're reading a 13 year olds diary, and not in a good way, and now I'm talking about the worshipping ways she writes about Edward. It's very superficial and you don't really get a grip of who he is, only that he's this wonderful creature who loves her too much and yada yada yada. I wont lie, it's a very good idea and story I just wish she'd had a better editor or something to correct her a bit more.
Back to the movies. I liked Twilight. I'm a big fan of Catherine Hardwicke and I'd seen all the films she'd done before Twilight, I didn't even know she was the director until I decided to watch it and looked it up on imdb. It's a gorgeous film and the soundtrack is brilliant, I love the fact that Catherine is able to do a film like that on a very tight budget. I'm very disappointed that she didn't get to do New Moon or Eclipse, then I might actually have been excited to see them. New Moon was pretty bad, the only thing that I was really impressed about was how well made the wolves were, other than that the CGI was horrible and I can't not comment on the wardrobe, especially Ashley Green's (aka Alice) . She dresses like a middle aged art teacher, which is the complete opposite compared to the first film. But hey, what can you expect from the director of American Pie?
